Impressive Paper Cuts for Every Occasion
Made by Julene are the hand made paper cuts and laser cuts of British artist Julene Harrison. Paper cuts are a huge trend in cards and gifts at the moment and these decorative artworks make wonderful gifts.
Julene has created a series of paper cuts celebrating 3 iconic cities and their cultures. From the fabulous city of London is ‘Mind the Gap’. Combining the famous phrase, with city landmarks and motifs, including Big Ben, The Eye and a black cab.
Second in the series of paper cuts celebrating landmark cities is New York. ‘Bright Lights, Big City’ is the perfect description of the city, which is decorated with the Empire State Building and evocative symbols of the Big Apple.
Last of the collection is “Qu’ils Mangent de la Brioche!” or “Let Them Eat Cake!” The famous phrase from the 18th century is designed to bring the fabulous city of Paris to mind. Combined with The Eiffel Tower, The Arc de Triomphe and a Can-Can girl.
The series of city paper cuts are made from sturdy boards, mounted on colourful, contrasting backdrops. Framed in minimal 24x30cm acrylic frames, each is signed and numbered. Julene currently sells via Etsy, the city laser-cuts are $105 (prices are in American Dollars).
As well as designs based on iconic cities, Julene creates paper cuts with motto’s and themes, such as ‘Where there is love there is no darkness’. Signed and numbered, this laser cut is made from sturdy 300gsm white paper. Available on various coloured mounts; as well as Taupe (shown) you can choose from Black, Chocolate, Grey, Baby Blue and Baby Pink. This design is $95.
