See the New Letterpress Designs from Red Bird Ink
Red Bird Ink is an art, design and letterpress studio based in Atlanta, Georgia creating wonderful stationery and homewares by designer Julia B Farill. Today we’ve got a few delightful stationery designs originating from observations of the natural world.
Our first image is a bright and bold collection of camellias. Using images collected from Julia’s father-in-law’s garden the cards feature large blossoms in a rich red. The modern design flows across the front and reverse of a sharp, white notecard and is co-ordinated with a matching red envelope. A set of eight cards contains four different designs and retails at $11.
Ginko leaves adorn this set of letterpress stationery. The images (shown above) are made on a 100 year old Chandler & Price printing press, which is hand-fed with bright white paper. The contemporary designs are then added in a hand-mixed, fresh green ink. A set of six folded cards with co-ordinated envelopes retails at $17.
On a walk through the San Francisco Botanical Garden in Golden Gate Park, Julia spotted a little tree with beautiful red berries. The design of these cards is derived from a photograph of that tree, its branches and bright red berries forming a striking design. Letterpress prints on acid-free archival paper the set is $18 for six cards.
I love the intricate design of these Orange tulip poplar branches, set against a textured card stock. The design uses a hand-mixed warm orange ink. A set of six designs retails at $18.
The final design from the Red Bird Ink collection is a print of bright yellow daffodils. A pretty, sunny card perfect for the summer. Six folded cards, with co-ordinated envelopes is available for $17.
All of these designs and many more are available to purchase online at the Red Bird Ink website.
