Brilliant Bookmarks for all Your Literary Finds
For a while now I’ve been researching book-related gifts from various designers and publishers here in the UK and over in the USA, and I found a whole host of fabulous mini gifts to show you here on the blog. Team any of them with a few paperbacks and you have the perfect gift for those of a literary persuasion. To start our look at ‘book -related’ gifts, I have some bookmarks with a difference.
First up, from That Company Called If, is some bright, cute Tracy Beaker themed magnetic mini bookmarks. The hanging pack contains six magnetic tabs that clip over the side of your page, marking your place with ease. Magnetic bookmarks seem to have been getting more popular in the shops over the last few months, and I understand the appeal; they’re incredibly easy to use and work really well. These little packs would have been great when I was at university and had to mark tonnes of different pages at the same time.
That Company Called If has a wide selection of licensed bookmarks featuring many much-loved characters. A pack of six mini magnetic bookmarks retail at £2.99,
In my Book has bridged the gap between card and gift for book lovers, creating a card and bookmark in one. The collection has a series of literary-inspired designs, drawn by book illustrator Meredith Hamilton on a thick watercolour board. Once its life as a card has expired, it can be recycled; simply tear-along the perforation provided, and you have a handy bookmark to treasure. Currently the collection of In My Book bookmark cards has 18 designs to choose from. Retailing at $4.95 they are available to see and purchase from the In My Book website.
Far from the cute world of Tracy Beaker that started the post, the last bookmarks from Designer Emmy are all about the walking dead. Making the most of the zombie trend, these bookmarks are the only ones horror fans should be seen with. Choose from a zombie chase scene or a full on zombie face – fantastically terrifying! Zombie bookmarks are handcrafted to order from baltic birch plywood, and finished with an Eco-friendly sealant. Retail at $5.00, these undead bookmarks can be purchased from the Emmy online shop.
