Tell us a little about yourself and your company?

I have been working for Mousehouse since it first began, earlier this year in April 2013. We are a Children’s Gifts Company who offers diverse, unique, and well-priced children’s gifts for children aged between 0-10 years. We pride ourselves in our extraordinary customer service and we enjoy bringing exciting new product ranges to our customers throughout the year.

Gaby Novelli the founder of the business wanted to source products that were difficult to find on the high street. Foreseeing a gap in the market she set about sourcing products that were high quality, appealing and desirable to our customers. As a mum of two, Gaby found it difficult to find coordinating ranges for children’s bedrooms, birthday parties and gifts for friends so she set about designing a range with all of this in mind. We have an extensive range of gift ideas including, wooden toys, coordinating home décor ranges, adorable soft toys, fun stationery sets, quirky money boxes, snow globes, ornaments, music boxes and gorgeous back packs.

Describe your typical working day …

I am a part of a very small dedicated team. As we are a new start up business there is always plenty to do. Each day can vary depending on what time of year it is. I spend a lot of my time assisting Gaby with the sourcing, buying and designing of the all the current and new product ranges. I design and create artwork and graphics which can be used for promoting our brand through advertising and marketing, on a day to day basis I assist customers with any enquiries, picking and packing of orders, and promoting the brand.

What is the best thing about your job?

I am a very lucky lady in that I am able to use my textile degree on a day to day basis. I have learnt a huge amount about business and branding. I love being creative, working hard and I am passionate about the fantastic products we sell. We are constantly trying to create new inspiring ranges. My job role is so varied that I never get the opportunity to be bored. I enjoy being a valued member of the team and I have found learning and developing with the business a really rewarding experience.

Who are your customers?

Our target customer is someone who appreciates good design and someone who gets excited by things that are different. A person who enjoys more bespoke items that are new to market and individual in style. Our target customers are drawn to things that they may not have been seen before.

Your Products …

What is your favourite product in the shop?

My favourite item that we sell would have to be the “Wooden camper van stationery set and money box” I am a girlie girl and love that it is pink! And also that it doubles up as a money box.
