English Flowers Greeting Cards Bursting With Blooms.
Following last week’s Behind the Design interview with Alice Atwell, I’m delighted to be able to share a few more card designs. Today’s gallery is from the publisher’s popular English Flowers greeting cards collection.
English Flowers is a beautiful range of 17 greetings cards. Each starts life as an ink and watercolour painting by Alice Atwell’s founder and designer, Katherine Lawson. The origin of these images was a lazy summer, spent painting in the garden of her childhood home. Those first paintings were a glimpse of the Wiltshire countryside and led to the card range we have today. A delicate and dreamy view of the perfect English garden, printed from Katherine’s original paintings.
Capturing warm summers and bright blooms, the English Flowers greeting cards are suitable for a wide variety of occasions. Kept as blank cards they are ideal for both celebrations and every day correspondence. Each card also has a fascinating flower fact on the reverse of the card; adding extra delight for floral fans.
To match the painting style, the English Flowers greeting cards are printed on a luxurious, textured card. Evoking the canvas of the original painting the designs become mini works of art.
The featured English Flowers greetings cards retail at £2.50 each. They can be purchased from stockists nationwide and are available to the trade from the Alice Atwell website.
2016 Update: since this feature was first published I’ve been made aware that the Alice Atwell website is no longer live. I don’t know if this is permanent or temporary. I will update this article with a new website link if I become aware one is available.
