Kissmekwik’s New Greeting Cards Help Ladybird Books Celebrate their Centenary.

This year Ladybird Books are celebrating their centenary. Standing at the forefront of children’s publishing, Ladybird has been creating books for kids since 1915. As one of the most iconic and well-known children’s brands, their book covers in particular are instantly recognisable for their iconic artwork and illustration.

To celebrate the centenary and the these unmistakable book covers Kissmekwik’s Simon Spicer has created an exclusive range of ‘Ladybird’ greeting cards. The designs combine vintage images from the archives of Ladybird Books with Kissmekiwk’s funny, topical captions. A perfect mix for modern day card giving.

Kissmekwik’s ‘Ladybird’ collection comprises 14 cards, suitable for a variety of occasions. Each greeting card is supplied with a brightly coloured envelope and left blank inside for a personal message. The cards are produced in the UK with FSC certified card stock from responsible sources.

Alongside the new ‘Ladybird’ greeting cards, Vintage Ladybird will be releasing a series of homewares, accessories, adult toys and games, prints and canvases. Naturally there will also be books, with the re-release of Ladybird classics and a new social history book ‘Ladybird by Design’ written by Lawrence Zeegen.

Ladybird fans can also soak up Ladybird’s rich history at the ‘Ladybird by Design’ exhibition at the De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill on Sea. Running from 24th Jan – 10th May 2015, the gallery will display over 200 original illustrations; showing  a selection of Ladybird books from the late 1950s to early 1970s. .

For those of you who can’t make it to the exhibition I hope you enjoy a taster of Ladybird’s 100 years via today’s card pick.
