A Round-Up of Why You Should Be Heading to Harrogate Home & Gift 2015.
This weekend sees the arrival of Harrogate Home & Gift 2015. This annual trade show is the industry’s summer favourite, showcasing the best and brightest in the world of greeting cards and gifts.
This year the show runs from Sunday 19th July to Wednesday 22nd July.
Hosted from the picturesque town of Harrogate, it’s always a highlight in the industry calendar, here’s why:
1. Historic Harrogate.
The historic spa town of Harrogate in North Yorkshire always adds a joyful feel to Home & Gift and I’m sure the 2015 show will be no exception. As a popular tourist destination, Harrogate draws people in with beautiful buildings, gardens and tea rooms. As a backdrop for the show the town offers a relaxed, welcoming feel that you don’t get at any of the other shows.
2. The Summer Holiday Feel.
Although not known for our reliable weather here in the UK, every exhibitor I’ve ever spoken to has told me the sun always shines for Home & Gift. While I can’t guarantee warm weather, I can say every time I have exhibited at, or visited the show, the sun has been out. For Harrogate Home & Gift 2015 the weather forecast looks hopeful, so there’s a very good chance of a summer holiday feel to the show.
3. Variety & More Variety.
Harrogate Home & Gift 2015 will play host to over 1000 exhibitors, which means they’ll be lots of amazing products to see. The exhibitors are split into 4 sectors: Gift, Interiors, Greetings & Stationery and Jewellery & Fashion offering great variety in the designs on offer.
4. The Great Northern Retail Summit.
New for 2015, Home & Gift will be holding The Great Northern Retail Summit. A chance for visitors to seek out the best business advice for the retail sector.
Held in the Majestic Hotel ballroom on Monday 20th July there will be a whole day of panels and keynote speakers. The day kicks off with a welcoming address and focus on the future of the High Street presented by Bob Jarrett, Professional Services Director at BIRA (British Independent Retailers Association).
5. Digital Workshop.
Alongside the retail summit, Harrogate Home & Gift 2015 also offers retailers a chance to brush up on their digital skills. Held on Sunday 19th July, the workshops will guide visitors through the best ways to improve their digital marketing strategy. Hosted by Entrepreneur & International Speaker Warren Knight, the workshop aims to help visitors save time and improve the results they get from social media.
6. Product Trails.
With so much to see and do in just a few days trade shows can be chaotic, so it’s always nice to see organisers creating product trails (curated paths that lead busy retailers to key products or exhibitors). At Harrogate Home & Gift 2015 visitors will be offered 6 trails; New Products, Christmas, Design Point Debut, Spotlight, Eco Products and Best of British. Design Point Debut in particular will be a must-see for any retailers looking for the industry’s newest stars.
7. The Social Show.
The card and gift industry is a friendly one so it’s fair to say that every trade show is sociable but Harrogate does manage to take this to another level. Mix together the nice summer evenings with the town’s friendly bars and restaurants and you’ll find exhibitors and visitors happily chatting and mingling day and night.
The show’s organisers are also great at creating a sociable show with fun events. Sunday evening the organisers host ‘Sunday Sundowners’, a party in the grounds of the Majestic Hotel; Monday night is quiz night and every day will see Live Music from 12-4pm.
