Hatch Cards: Q46a.
Bath-based entrepreneur Dan Chapman is set to launch Hatch Cards – a range of greetings cards that come to life using Augmented Reality. Having watched his daughter (aged 5) open countless cards and follow the same routine – rip open the envelope, glance at the message inside, check for any money and then toss the card aside – he realised a mere 30 seconds of interaction for a card that was painstakingly picked and lovingly posted just wasn’t good enough – this set him on his quest to create a greetings card that gave something back. He researched countless technologies before discovering Augmented Reality and partnering with a company that could help him realise his dreams, Zappar. After developing the prototype and testing it on his daughter he was delighted to see that they were a success … and Hatch Cards was born.
