The 2016 Gift of the Year Award Winners are Here.
The 2016 Gift of the Year Award winners have been announced at this year’s Spring Fair trade show.
As in previous years, the awards shine a light on the most original and innovative ‘new-to-market’ gift products that we’ll be seeing in the shops and online stores in the months ahead.
The winning designs are hand-picked by a panel of judges; industry experts from independent gift shops, large department stores and online retailers.
The awards are organised in a series of rounds. The first round features online product reviews, creating a shortlist of chosen gift products. A second round then sees all the judges reviewing real samples of the shortlisted products. From this judging process a winning product and 2 highly commended entries are chosen for each of the 20 gift categories.
The panel judge each gift by several criteria including innovation, originality, quality, viability and wow factor to name just a few.
The Judges then choose one of the 2016 Gift of the year Award Winners to take the extra honour of ‘The Judges’ Choice’ Award.
The winners were announced at the show by this year’s Ambassador of the Gift of the Year Awards, Cath Kidston.
In today’s post we’re showcasing all of the 2016 Gift of the Year Award winners, which will be followed by the full run down of highly commended products tomorrow.
