Cordello Home’s New Tableware Aims to Add Iconic Style to Your Home.

Cordello Home has recently unveiled their new ‘Iconic Collection’. A range of tableware, which embraces the trend for architectural and urban design, while also building on Cordello’s trademark use of the heart.

The Iconic Collection features olive green, slate grey, sandstone and a vibrant sky blue. The distinct colour palette is inspired by the landscape of Salento in Puglia, Southern Italy, a region that holds a special place in the heart of Cordello Home’s founder and design director, Kate Shaw.

The tableware collection is launching with a co-ordinated selection of placemats, coasters, a table centre placemat and rectangular birch sandwich tray. Stylish additions to any home and a great gift idea for the domestic goddess, who oozes style and sophistication.

The Iconic Collection is Cordello’s 3rd range since their launch in 2014. Commenting on the new tableware Kate Shaw, said

“Having spent the last year renovating a historic house in Puglia, this collection reflects my love of the typical Salento architecture with its star shaped vaulted ceilings made from the beautiful local stone, pietra leccese. The striking geometric pattern is designed to create dynamic visual impact and work well as individual statement pieces or altogether.”

About Cordello Home

Kate Shaw is the founder and design director of Cordello Home, which launched in July 2014. Following a successful career in banking, Kate followed in her father’s footsteps, returning to her design and heritage roots. Together with her husband, she set up a global design agency that uses a distinctive heart in their logo. This in turn became the inspiration behind the Cordello Home brand.

Kate wanted to bring her love of graphic design, pattern and colour to life on everyday homeware products; creating her own unique patterns which would use a heart device as the starting point of each design.

A lover of all things Italian, the name Cordello comes from two Italian words; ‘cuore’ meaning heart and ‘modello’ meaning pattern.

Every Cordello Home pattern is created using the iconic heart symbol and the design process starts with an exploration of colour and scale. The in-house design team spend considerable time playing with different versions of colour and pattern before selecting a final design.

Cordello Home’s popular debut collection comprised a bold array of fine bone china, tableware and textiles in vibrant shades of purple, cerise, emerald and yellow. In September 2015 this first range was followed by the Signature Collection, offering a more refined and minimalist design that still tapped into the brand’s love of geometric pattern and punchy hues. The Iconic Collection is the brand’s third range and will be launched to the world this month.
