The Lucky Finalists of the 2016 Henries Awards Have Been Revealed

Once again awards season is approaching for the UK greetings card industry. Yes, you guessed it, the finalists of the 2016 Henries Awards have been announced.

Over 40 of the UK’s top greeting card retail buyers perused more than 14,000 greeting card and gift wrap designs to select the finalists.

Covering 19 every day and seasonal categories each of the submissions was shown to the judging panel “blind” without any details of the original designer or publisher.

As always, this year’s judging panel had impressive credentials; Comprising buyers from the country’s top retailers, including: leading independents and Paperchase, John Lewis, Scribbler, Waterstones, WHSmith, Tesco, Fenwick, Clintons, National Trust, Longacres Garden Centre, Funky Pigeon, Frosts and Moonpig.

While the majority of The 2016 Henries Awards categories are for ranges or extensions to ranges launched in the last year, there are a few final categories that stand apart.  The Henry Cole Classic award is given to ranges that have stood the test of time; while the Most Promising Young Designer or Artist recognises the creativity of individuals under 35 years.

Alongside the 19 design and product based categories the 2016 Henries Awards will also give a special award for the Best Service to the Independent Retailer.
