With Festive Friday just a few days away, it’s time to take a look at the Best Christmas Cards of 2016. In our final Christmas Cards post of the year, I wanted to share a few of my favourite designs available this festive season. Unlike our previous Christmas card picks, these are from no particular category of greetings cards; printed, letterpress and pop up cards all happily sit side by side.

The common theme of this pick of best Christmas cards of 2016 is originality and quality. Each card is beautifully designed and made to the very highest standards. More than that, each Christmas card has that extra special, hard to explain “wow factor” that gives a warm cosy feeling; what could be better for the cold winter days of Christmas? If you’re looking for cards with sparkle, this holidays, this Astrology Stars Christmas Card might be the perfect pick. With a liberal sprinkling of Christmas humour, this card is bound to raise a smile or two this Yuletide.

Cute Penguin Christmas Card

The penguins seem to be particularly cute this Christmas and this next card is no exception. With its sleek, minimalist illustration, I love how adorable this little Penguin looks in his winter scarf. I also love the soft colour palette, which is a nice contrast to the regular rich colours you find on many Christmas cards. A great card for young and old card givers alike, I think this Penguin is going to be a huge hit over the festive season.

Designed by Anna Bond for the iconic stationery brand, Rifle Paper Co. This vibrant ‘Joy to the World’ card was designed and produced in the US for Northlight. Printed on FSC certified paper, the design features a full colour screen print. With a rich colour palette and lashings of gold, the design delivers a happy, warm glow that is perfect for the cold winter days.

Merry Christmas Bear

Based on an illustration by Min Hee Kim, this adorable Bear Christmas Card is part of Ohh Deer’s latest festive range. A sweet, simple design, this mighty bear is sure to make a good impression this Christmas. Popping out from a crisp white background and joined by a sprinkle of gold snowflakes he’s the most festive bear around. Printed in the UK on FSC approved card stock, the design is matched with a 100% recycled brown envelope.

Santa Claws Christmas Card

Our final choice in the best Christmas cards of 2016 is this cool Santa Claws design. The only Christmas card for cat lovers, the design features a vintage cat illustration. Wearing his super slick kitty sunglasses and looking rather fetching in a Kitty Santa hat and matching dicky bow & shirt combo; he’s the most festive feline around. The cards are printed on a 300gsm textured white card stock and matched with a Kraft envelope.
