Top Drawer Announce the Winners of the PaperAwards 2017

Top Drawer have unveiled the winners for the PaperAwards 2017. Sponsored by GF Smith, the PaperAwards is a new initiative set up to support and recognise the creativity and innovation of the talented exhibitors within the Greetings & Stationery area of Top Drawer.

Making its first appearance at Top Drawer Autumn in 2016, the competition was a huge hit showcasing both established and emerging talent within the sector.

For the PaperAwards 2017 the organisers have retained the original format inviting nominations in 3 categories; emotive design, engaging print and exciting use of colour. From all the entrants a shortlist is created of 6 finalists per category.

The finalists for the PaperAwards 2017 were chosen by a panel of stationery industry experts including: Clare Sprigings, Stationery and Seasonal buyer for Selfridges; Lizzie Bachelor, Stationery and Seasonal Buyer for John Lewis; Rina Bhansali, Merchandise Manager for Harrods, and Kirsty White, Product & Design Manager at Heals.

The winners were then selected by the trade via an online vote.

Choosing the Winners
Founder of PaperFest, Abigail Warner, reflecting on the judging process and winners this year said:

“We had a lot of fun with the incredible judging panel while shortlisting the finalists for each category, and we’re absolutely delighted by the growth we’ve experienced in such a short time both in terms of entries and votes.

The large number of applications was a result of the high calibre of judges and the number of votes cast by the industry was a reflection of the diverse shortlist. We couldn’t be happier with the overall winners – Independent and playful Rhombus and Pineapple, Industry stalwart Roger La Borde and design-led favourite Lagom.”
