Card Makers to Look Out for at Autumn Fair 2017
It’s Autumn Fair time once more, and this weekend exhibitors from across the world will descend on Birmingham’s NEC to showcase their latest products.
I will be there soaking up inspiration, taking in all the new cards and gifts, but before I get there I thought it would be nice to preview a few of the exhibitors.
Today I wanted to share 10 greetings card publishers that I will be looking out for, as I wander the halls. From the early sneak peeks, it looks like they will all have some innovative, fun and interesting greetings cards on show.
1. Shelli Graham Illustration – Hall 03 Stand 3V61
Shelli Graham Illustration create high quality greeting cards and prints, designed by (you guessed it) Shelli Graham. For Autumn Fair 2017 Shelli will be showcasing her ‘Alphabeti Yeti’ range; a series of illuminated alphabet letters based on fairy tales. Manufactured here in the UK the designs are available as greeting cards, archival prints and faux suede cushions.
Alongside these designs it’s also worth keeping your eye out for the delightful Jon Snowman card, clashing the world of the Snowman with a Game of Thrones favourite.

2. Dean Morris Cards – Hall 04 Stand 4F61
Dean Morris Cards create funny greetings cards, and giftware that includes: fridge magnets, coasters, mugs and gift wrap to name just a few. The designs range from clean comedic ideas to stuff rude enough to garner press coverage. All of the greetings cards are guaranteed to make you giggle; making the stand a must-see even in its 18th year of card publishing.

3. Oh My Designs – Hall 04 Stand 4B42
Oh My Designs create modern and innovative greetings cards, gift wrap and stationery. In using the latest manufacturing techniques they aim to make unique designs that stand out from the crowd. Shout Outs are a series of fun, animal-inspired designs; each is a tent-style, standing card with a nodding head. Lift the head and the card appears to shout its message.

4. Lola Design – Hall 04 Stand 4F77
One of my favourite new card publishers is Lola Design, who specialise in premium greeting cards with bright, vibrant designs. All greeting cards are designed in house and printed in the UK on FSC boards. I’m particularly keen to see the Tropical Candy cards, a cute and colourful range designed for kids.

5. Lesser Spotted Images – Hall 04 Stand 4A39
Lesser Spotted Images are probably best known as the publishers of ‘Lesser Spotted Britain’, a Henries nominated photographic collection featuring funny and rude village signs from across the UK.
As a Breaking Bad fan however it was the ‘Jim’ll Paint It’ card range that caught my eye in the Autumn Fair previews. The range sees cartoonist James Murray painting bizarre requests from the British public, including Postman Pat in full Walter White mode.

6. Hearts Designs – Hall 04 Stand 4F66
Hearts Designs create luxury handmade greetings cards and stationery. Known for their heart warming sentiments and sparkling diamanté embellishments, I was drawn to this simple Congratulations Card; an elegant design that mixes classic monochrome polka dots with some glittering gold foil.

Established in 2016 by British illustrator Mitch Robinson and Austrian illustrator Rebekka Somogyi, Fasanian Artistry unite high quality cards with cute and funny characters. I was particularly pleased to see some fabulous designs for pun-fans in the range; including this brilliant Diplodoughnut design.
