This Brilliant New Stuff is Coming to Spring Fair 2018
With Spring Fair 2018 fast approaching things are getting busy here at Card & Gift Network HQ.
While I’m spending most of my time preparing for my workshop, I have also been scoping out the new launches. So today I’m delighted to share with you 20 of the new products that will make their trade show debut at the Birmingham NEC this February.
Let’s take a look before retailers snap them up.
Tess Cards – Hall 3-3A Stand 3K41
Humour publisher Tess Cards launched at PG Live in June 2017 with five greeting card ranges. As they move to Spring Fair they are expanding their collection to add 4 more card ranges: Skool Rules, #Fitspo and Typed Up and Festive Ditties.
The highlight of the new additions is ‘Skool Rules’, inspired by the shared experiences all parents seem to have in the school playground. Keen for the cards to strike a chord with mums and dads everywhere, Tess Cards’ founder Tess Harbinson roped in son Charlie to help create the finished designs; adding to the authenticity and creating a child-like design style.
Toft Shop -Hall 6-7 & 20 Stand 6T07
For Spring Fair 2018 Toft Shop will be exhibiting 50 new canine companions. Building on the success they have had with Kerry Lord’s best-selling Edward’s Menagerie amigurumi crochet books and kits. The new additions aim to inspire more crafters worldwide to pick up a crochet hook for the first time.
Appealing to both adults and children alike, the new designs are illustrated with full colour photography; featuring the toy dogs alongside their real life breeds, as well as step-by-step photo tutorials for every technique.
SeedCell® – Hall 3-3A Stand 3F09
SeedCell® will be unveiling a special new gift line when they exhibit at Spring Fair’s Glee. Aimed at the premium gift market, the gift boxes come with a mixture of SeedCell® Singles™, ready to pop open and plant whenever and wherever you want. As with all of SeedCell’s lines, this new product is 100% biodegradable, easy to use and fun for all the family.
Krasilnikoff A/S – Hall 6-7 & 20 Stand 7E01
Inspired by their Nordic roots and the spirit of Hygge, Krasilnikoff A/S ‘s Spring and Summer collection brings a fresh look to homewares inspired by the Danish outdoors. Reminiscent of hazy summers and days spent by the sea, the collection features prints of sea anchors, thin stripes and daisies. While beautiful and vibrant colours are brought to life with imagery of fresh red strawberries and plum apples.
Gund – Hall 4 Stand 4H91
As one of America’s most prestigious soft toy companies and the only official global licensee of Pusheen plush, Gund will be unveiling the newly launched Pusheen Surprise Plush Mystery Box Magical Kitties. The range features everyone’s favourite grey tabby cat, and, for the first time ever, Pusheen’s siblings Stormy and Pip.
Each plush within the mystery box series is a smaller version of the full-scale plush versions but with the same adorable features. Each miniature plush also features a handy keychain, allowing it to be used as an on-trend keyring or bag chain; the purr-fect extra for Pusheen super fans.
Shearer Candles – Hall 4 Stand 4D41
A firm favourite amongst candle lovers, Shearer Candles ‘Couture Collection’ continues to grow with new colours and fragrances launching in 2018.
Spring Fair visitors will be able to experience 15 luxurious scents in radiant colours as jar candles, tins candles, pillars, tealights, diffusers, refills, pillar jars and wax melts.
Look out for new fragrances: Clean Slate, Lemon Zest and Cocoa & Sandalwood.
Ling Design – Hall 3-3A Stand 3Q18-R21
At Spring Fair 2018 Ling Design will be launching ‘The Curious Inksmith’, a sensational new range of greetings cards made with great imagination.
The collection of 48 everyday cards all feature beautiful bold, contemporary designs, many of which are hand-painted, and are all striking yet stylish in their simplicity.
Each card appears on a premium board with a craft envelope, some including a quirky caption, foil or embossing, with an understated ‘no fuss’ approach to other embellishments.
Le Toy Van – Hall 5 Stand 5L25
Le Toy Van will be exhibiting a number of new to market items across all their best selling ranges at this year’s Spring Fair, but visitors should look out for ‘The Honeybake Popcorn Machine’.
A firm favourite of the Le Toy Van team, the popcorn machine brings the cinema to your home. This unique and compact vintage wooden popcorn machine features a “pop handle” hold it down, release, watch them pop! Complete with 5 felt play popcorns to collect from the drawer and a colourful popcorn pot to serve them.
Packaging features show tickets and sweet/salty popcorn tickets to cut out for extended play value. Naturally guilt free, this wooden popcorn machine set is perfect for little ones to work on their fine motor skills as well as practice their speech & social interaction skills.
Orchard Toys – Hall 5 Stand 5K65
Orchard Toys will be showcasing a new range of preschool puzzles, alongside fantastic new games at Spring Fair 2018.
Visitors should keep their eyes peeled for 3 new collections: The Look and Find activity puzzle range for ages 3+ offers a new way to learn, with two jigsaws paired together; encouraging observational skills and reinforce learning by matching items on both the puzzles.
Other new launches include Money Match Café, a fun roleplay money game and Dinosaur Lotto, a colourful, dinosaur-themed matching and memory game.
Recent Toys – Hall 6-7 & 20 Stand 6N24
Recent Toys have been the exclusive worldwide partner of Meffert Puzzles for a number of years. The popular range includes bestsellers, Gear Ball, Skewb Xtreme and Molecube.
For 2018, Recent Toys will be showcasing Constantin Puzzles, renowned across Europe for their unique design and quality craftsmanship. As exclusive distributors for Constantin puzzles, the first selection of games will be available to Spring Fair 2018 visitors.
Danilo Promotions Ltd – Hall 3-3A Stand 3M16
It will be double portions of ‘Gruffalo crumble’ at Danilo’s HQ as the card and calendar publisher has sealed the deal to publish greeting cards and gift wrappings based on the children’s character, The Gruffalo.
First published in 1999 The Gruffalo has gone on to become a top favourite for 3-7 year olds. Over 13 million copies of the book, based on the rhyming couplets by revered storyteller Julia Donaldson brought to life by Axel Scheffler’s illustrations, have been sold all over the world, not to mention the spin off films, live events and a whole licensing programme, which has seen The Gruffalo feature on a range of different products.
The Gruffalo joins a host of recent signings for Danilo, which include Horrible Histories, Roald Dahl, World of Walliams, LOL and JoJo Siwa.
Sinco Toys – Hall 5 Stand 5L55
Recently, Sinco Toys have unveiled their partnership with Aardman Animations, as master toy licensee for the UK and Eire. The agreement covers two of the studio’s most successful properties, ‘Shaun the Sheep’ and ‘Timmy Time’.
The partnership will see Sinco produce collections of plush toys, figurines, playsets, vehicles, games and puzzles alongside arts and crafts products. Spring Fair visitors can expect to get a first glimpse of the products at the Sinco stand, with more coming to market later in the year.
The Little Dog Laughed Ltd – Hall 3-3A Stand 3S10
The Little Dog has always wanted to have a benchmark collaboration for its 20th anniversary, and heading into 2018 and their 20th year, this ambition has been achieved. For their newest range, due for launch in spring 2018, The Little Dog have developed an exciting partnership supporting the RSPCA.
The aptly titled ‘It’s a Good Sign’ collection highlights the Little Dogs enthusiasm to support a charity close to the company’s heart by generously supporting the RSPCA’s work for the next three years.
For every product sold the RSPCA will receive 10% of wholesale price. This means that all products within the range will contribute to the RSPCA’s work, no matter where the consumer buys them. Featuring greetings cards, glasses cases, mint tins, china mugs and keyrings, the lines within ‘It’s a Good Sign’ range are sure to have global appeal in the giftware and greetings market.
Kate Sproston Designs – Hall 6-7 & 20 Stand 6R26
Kate Sproston Design recently saw their cheeky rabbit egg cosy shortlisted for the Gift of the Year Award 2018, in the Design & Craft Category. And this is just one of the new designs that Spring Fair visitors will see at the company’s stand.
As part of the new Rabbit & Otter Collection, the egg cosy will be exhibited alongside snap purses, glasses cases, napkins and bags. The collection is digitally embroidered and hand constructed in the UK with extraordinary care and attention to detail, recreating the intricate designs.
Twizler Ltd – Hall 3-3A Stand 3V63
Twizler will be launching lots of new products at Spring Fair 2018. For the very first time, these new products will also include gift wrap. The Twizler team are diving into the world of gift wrap with 12 designs, including: boys, girls, gender neutral, new baby and their famous Bugger Bear humour wrap.
They will also be showcasing a brand new humour range, a fresh children’s range featuring Mermaids; as well as additions to their most successful existing ranges.
WOLF – Hall 6-7 & 20 Stand 6L60-M61
WOLF, the 183-year-old British luxury leather goods company has been designing and hand-making jewellery cases, travel accessories, watch storage and maintenance solutions for over 180 years.
Now family led by the 5th generation, they go to Spring Fair with their latest jewellery box collection, Sophia. With its classic exterior and LusterLoc™ interior, Sophia is designed to be as charming on the outside as the charms jewellery lovers keep on the inside.
Little Concepts – Hall 5 Stand 5L34
Makii (derived from the verb ‘make’) was founded in 2013 by illustrators Idris van Heffen and Mielo Pouwer from Rotterdam, the Netherlands. By bundling their talents together, they saw a great opportunity to create innovative and creative products for kids. Products that have caught the eye of littleCONCEPTS.
littleCONCEPTS are now bringing the fun and creative Makii range to the UK and Ireland as part of their portfolio of creative brands.
The range consists of Giant Colouring Posters, Giant Stickering Posters and even a new Bamboo Crockery Range; each designed with beautiful themes, including Cityscapes, Under Water Adventures, Jungles Scenes and more.
A M International Agencies Ltd – Hall 5 Stand 5J61
This year A M International are heading to the Birmingham NEC with their range of licensed World Wildlife Fund soft toys, rebranded for 2018. The collection, to be launched at Spring Fair in Hall 5, will have new boxes clearly explaining the animals habitat and how WWF is helping to save their environment.
Having already given over 6 million euros to the WWF charity, the manufacturer International Bon Ton Toys, will also add new brighter labelling, which highlights how sales of the range can help save endangered species.
My Gifts Trade – Hall 9 Stand 9B20-C21
My Gifts Trade is a family run independent business based in the North of England. At this year’s Spring Fair they’ll be launching two new designer ranges of ceramics and homewares.
First is ‘I Like Birds’, an eye-catching and quirky design inspired by and featuring birds from the British Isles. This will be joined by a new range by Meg Hawkins who has created a fresh and vibrant approach to her watercolour Botanical range.
Mustard – Hall 6-7 & 20 Stand 6N42-P43
Stationery trend-setters Mustard, will be showcasing new ranges: Wink, Banana, Cat N’Dog and Origami at Spring Fair.
Adding to their signature collections: Cactus, Marble and T-Rex, the expanded range builds on the excitement for Mustard products, which has seen the brand feature on television, magazine covers and in national newspaper features. Not to mention their spot in my ‘Top Ten Gifts of 2017‘!
The new collections will combine vibrant colours with high quality design and production; delighting stationery addicts everywhere.
