Meet Surface Pattern Designer & Illustrator Hayley Louise Crann
I recently came across a stunning collection of greeting cards and giftware that I wanted to share with you here.
Featuring striking illustrations of flora, fauna and the natural world, the collection of greetings cards, stationery and gifts are the work of surface pattern designer and illustrator Hayley Louise Crann.
Hailing from Wakefield, UK, Hayley has spent much of her life with a pencil in her hand. A trait that turned into a career when Hayley decided to attend Leeds College of Art to study Surface Pattern Design.
Since graduating Hayley has progressed to launching her own business. Selling her products to retailers and direct to consumers, as well as undertaking freelance commissions.
Let’s take a quick look at her range…
Made in England, Hayley’s collection includes high-quality greetings cards, notebooks, gift wrap, coasters and Limited Edition Prints.
Each product is uniquely decorated with Hayley’s eye-catching illustrations, which feature intricate details and a subtle use of colour that delivers an elegant, luxurious feel to the range.
Hayley’s work favours the traditional method of drawing using fine line pen and pencil; a preference which results in hand-drawn imagery with tiny details and vibrant textures.
Speaking on the inspiration behind her designs, Hayley commented…
“I find inspiration from many different places. I have always loved animals and the outdoors, and I especially love little cute animals (my dad used to take me hunting for little creatures when I was a little) so these are my favorite things to draw.”

I always enjoy stumbling across designers I haven’t seen before and Hayley’s card & gift collection really stood out for its unique designs. I love the clean white backdrops to each of the products, which helps to push the focus onto Hayley’s artwork. Fingers-crossed we see more of the Hayley Louise Crann collection in the coming months and years.
