Be Green Are The New Green Greeting Cards on The Block.
If you’re looking for green greeting cards that are kinder to the environment, today’s card pick is for you.
‘Be Green’ is the new eco-friendly, locally sourced card collection by small, Yorkshire-based design company Plewsy.
An ethically-led project, ‘Be Green’ is inspired by the great outdoors and interior trends. A collection of greeting cards and matching gift wrap designs that will officially launch to the trade at this year’s Pulse 2016 trade show; running 15th-17th May at Olympia in London.
Following the close of the show the range will then be released online on the 20th May.
The range aims to provide a humble, yet on-trend alternative to the average greeting card design. Experimental textures and soft colour tones appear across the range; giving a sophisticated look and feel designed to appeal to creative, professional females or families with an interest in outdoors-inspired design.
The collection comprises 10 new green greetings cards and two luxury gift wraps; each printed digitally within the UK onto recycled FSC accredited paper stock. A simple grey recycled envelope, complementing the subtle greens and blues of the collection accompanies each greetings card.
Committing to ‘Be Green’ is a big step, especially for small businesses but Plewsy are incredibly excited to be shouting about their eco-aware brand. Founder Fiona has committed the business to use recycled materials and packaging wherever possible. Going forward they will also be sourcing local suppliers and supporting the local economy.
The new ‘Be Green’ range joins Plewsy’s existing collection of light-hearted designs, which have proved popular in both independent gift shops and department stores all across the UK.
Based in North Yorkshire Plewsy is the home of designer Fiona Fawcett … and her curly cockapoo puppy, Noddy!
Following her graduation in 2012, Fiona put her graphic design degree to use work in a branding and marketing agency, learning tonnes about paper stocks, pantone colours and printing techniques. She also started an Etsy shop for her designs with a small selection of just 6 greeting cards.
In 2014 she secured support from the Prince’s Trust to launch Plewsy. Today the company’s range of paper products and homewares are stocked in a growing number of lovely shops across the UK.
